83 days on his mission!
Dear Mother and everyone else:
Well I made it to Thailand. I'm in
an area called Samut Prakaan and I have a khon thai trainer(thai
native). I'm one of three white missionaries to have a trainer in like 3
years I here.. But i am not sure. It is pretty hot here in Thailand but
I'm adjusting. My companions name is Elder Benjamin. He's super fun and
awesome and is working with me. I Appreciate all the support from
everyone. It's crazy to be riding bikes right next to cars flying but
Its safe enough and I'm adjusting well. I've picked up a lot of the
native tongue and stuff so I'm understanding much more in the lessons
and such. OUR FIRST BAPTISM IS SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 18! :) Her name is
sister ying and we finished the lessons yesterday so she's ready and
excited.. Talk about a sweet bday present huh? I didn't teach her much
but I finished the lessons with her :P haha. We have 5 other
investigators who are close to baptism just gotta iron out a few
issues. The flight here was long but not too bad I slept a little
while. Jet lag is rough but I'm adjusting fairly quickly. Today we are
going to a crocodile farm for pday so I'm excited for that. My Area is
awesome and the members here are pretty sweet. We had 64 people at
church total yesterday so that was a good amount. I love the people here
already they are all sooo nice and it's humbling to be here because you
see how well we have it in America. Thailand is pretty hot but not bad
at all. I'm adjusting well and language is coming fairly quickly. The
members here have a hard time saying my name. i've been called elder
mango and flamingo so yeah haha it's hard for them. I have trouble
remembering names but I'm doing better now. I've been very busy and this
week we set some good goals so we will see how that goes. I'm excited
for today to go to the crocodile farm. I miss everyone out there and I
hope everyone the best. I know the gospel is real and
the this is the only church. I know God has prepared people here in
thailand that are prepared to here and gospel I just gotta go find them.
We had a good meeting with members yesterday to get more referrals so I
hope that goes well... We plan to have a fireside on referrals here
soon. I love it here and know this is the Lord's work and he's helping
me and comforting me when I', discouraged. I saw an elephant walking
down the street the other day! Crazy huh? Anyways I know that God is
helping me and is helping those who support me as well. I feel the love
of family and of God every single day. I love you all. I miss you all
and I hope everything is going great in America.

We got great news
today. Sister Skalla(phiithay) that got sent to temple square. Is
actually coming with us today! Crazy huh? Anyways not much to say. I
think Pdays are monday there so write an email before then. I love you all very
much and I'll
call tonight anywhere from 8:30 PM to 9:30 pm your time or later at LA
or both. I love you lots. Thank sooo much for trying to get the contacts
and such. These contacts I have are troopers and I appreciate
everything you've done for me. Thanks for the pants for my bday they are
great. And thanks for the girl scout cookies and such. I loved it all. I
love you lots and I know that I'll get the contacts when they are ready
to come. I have glasses as backup and I can wear them just fine. I love
you. Talk to you soon.

70 days in the MTC!

Dear Mother and others:
So I leave pretty
late on Monday the 27th. I leave the MTC at 4:30 PM and fly out of SLC
at 7:59 PM and then land in LAX at 9:08 PM local time. I then have 3
hour layover till 12:05 AM on the 28th technically... then I fly to Hong
Kong. I land in Hong Kong at 7:40 AM on the 29th local time and then
have 1 hour 30 min layover and I leave there at 9:10 local time. Then I
fly to Thailand and land at 11:05 local time on the 29th.. Which will be
the 28th in Virginia... Weird.. Soo. The problem I have is idk how much
time I'll have in SLC for airport to call but I should be fine I'd
think.. So that'd be around 9:00-10:00 your time ish PM. Or I can
definitely have time at LAX airport.. So I
totally leave 6 days from now... I cannot believe
that... It's soo crazy. The MTC has been an uplifting experience and I
have made sooo many friends.. My entire district gets along soo well and
we all love each other a lot it's crazy haha. Anyways... Everything is going great here at the MTC I
cannot wait to get to Thailand; it'll be an experience that I will never
forget. I feel fairly comfortable with the language I just really have
to push my self this last week to do better with the Vocab. I can read
the script pretty well now; it's just the vocabulary. Anyways I love you
all. This week is my final week in the United States for awhile so
that's exciting. I hope everything is going great at home. I hope the
house is fixed soon.. Keep me updated on what everyone is up too I enjoy
to hear that. I know the lord is with me and is with you all; just keep
pushing hard and studying your scriptures
daily and pray daily and you can know that he's there without a doubt.
The provo temple is great and It's crazy have left it for the last time
for about 2 years of leaving a temple. Well I better get going I cannot
think of anything else that I needed to say or share.. Everything is
going great. I love you all and I hope to hear more about what everyone
is up to.

Kameron's tenth email!! :) February 14th 2012
63 days in the MTC!
Dear Mother, Family, and others:
Things are still going great here at the MTC. I'll be a zone leader
probably till the day before I leave because I'm training somebody new
before I leave so that'll be fun. Wow a full year for william soon
that's crazy! Yeah Elder Adamson said that grandpa talked to him. Temple today was really great! We have this older couple
always as the witness couple and we've grown to love them soo much. They
are soo amazing and love the missionaries as well. Next week will be my last week
emailing at the MTC then on monday the 27th I'll get to call you. I'll
give you a couple hour window I'd call when I get my flight plans so
next week's email wil be important. Sunday we got to watch Elder
Bednar's talk from christmas on the character of christ.. It was even
better the second time. I've learned sooo much thai and soo much about
the gospel here it is unreal! Elder Bednar talked about how we need to
be turning outward and we need to not be like the natural man(cookie
monster) and want things for ourselves RIGHT NOW! Anyways, he told a
story of a relief society president that called him (when he was a stake
pres) at like 4-5 in the morning and asked if he would go to the
hospital to check on three young women who had been badly injured and
she needed him to identify one of them that was dead. He could hear that
she was on two phones, one with him, one with a nurse from the
hospital near him. And then he could hear the nurse say. "We've
positively identified the dead young girl as your daughter" And
IMMEDIATELY, the RS pres told Elder Bednar, you need to call the mothers
of the other two daughters and tell them that their children are still
alive so they can be comforted.. She immediately worried about the other
mothers and stuff. This was her only daughter and her only child as
well.. Then when Elder Bednar was speaking with her about the funeral,
she said, you know it's going to be a closed casket but I want you and
your wife to come see my daughter before they close the casket because
they cleaned her up well and I don't want you to have the image of my
daughter all beat up from the car accident. She was worried about the
last image he had of her daughter. Then to top everything of with this
women. The DAY of her daughter's funeral, she receives a phone call from
a sick sister in the ward.. Complaining that nobody had
brought her food yet and she was sick, (this lady did not know that the
RS pres daughter had died but still). Anyways, on the way to her
daughter's funeral, the RS pres dropped of some food that she had just
made for that complaining sister in the ward. That is such an example of
being christ-like and turning outward. I cannot believe that she could
do sooo much for others.. Anyways that stuck out to me a lot. Thank you
for everything you do and for the support. I love you all...

56 days in the MTC!!
Hello everyone!
Anyways, things are going great.. The temple was super sweet today!
20 days tile thailand! I'm sooo stoked it'll be awesome. When I meet
him I'll remember to ask him about her. Tell grandma thanks for the
package. I haven't
finished the BOM but I'm in 3rd Nephi chapter 21 ish right now so I'll
finish this sunday hopefully. The 50th anniversary was cool... Heard
from ELder Holland and Nelson. And got to hear a dedicatory prayer for 5
buildings at MTC. Was super cool to hear an apostle prayer to our
father in heaven!
Guess who came into MTC last week!!! CHRIS ADAMSON from mesquite 7th
ward who graduated in 2007. Ask robby about him. He is a little older
but he's going to Jamaica so that's super cool... He heard my name and
came running to my residence hahaha but yeah I thought that was super
cool... My district is sooo awesome. SOme elders in it remind me of
family so it's nice haha and sister chan is one of the coolest asians
ever.. She is really funny and is super cool.. Anyways! Things are going
well here... Cannot wait til I can eat some real food at airports and
such.. Not next tuesday but the following I'll have flight plans and I
will email them too you and we will set up a possible time that I will
call your cell phone. Anyways things are going well
here at the MTC. I cannot think of much that I need right now I am sure
that i'll be fine.. I love you and
the family sooo much. Hope everything goes well with the house! Give
Cayden and Vincent a hug for me. Love you all.

49 days in the MTC!
Mother, Family, and others:
The MTC is sweet.. I loved welcoming all 16 new thai missionaries
in it was a blast! Being a zone leader at the MTC truly is awesome. We
get some more missionaries this week.. English speaking though but
that's okay. Sounds like a fun thing for Aniesha.. She'll be fine i'm
sure. I hear the house is crazy so that's fun. I have 3 weeks and 6 days
left before I leave for Thailand and before I call you.. it'll be the
27th in about 3 weeks i'll give you a more specific time I'll call and
stuff but we will figure it out. So, I met a sister Taylor who's going
to Cambodia. She lived in Logandale for awhile... Her cousins are the
Acey's... It sounded familiar but IDK. She knows
the Davis' and I asked her to get their address for me so hopefully
that works out. Oh and I met a senior missionary who said his boss was a
Larry Federico from Smithfield, Utah so if you can find out about him
that'd be sweet. He died like 5 years ago or so but IDK him. Today is
the 50th anniv. of the MTC should be a sweet devotional tonight! Oh, i
gave my older digital camera to Elder Kofford( Phiithay) he couldn't
afford one and I had an extra so I thought I should. Love the new camera
I got though. OH and Elder Kofford cannot go to Thailand so he learned
the language for 12 weeks and now is in is 15th week at the MTC and is
going to the Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania mission! Crazy huh?! He's
dissapointed though, his mother is all Thai and knows the language and
everything. He just can't ride a bike till he's thirty so he needed a
non-biking mission. He's doing much better now. Oh and Sister
Skalla(phiithay) is going to Temple Square mission for a
transfer and then might end up coming out to Thailand with us so
that'll be exciting.. Every since she converted to the church she has
wanted to go to Temple Square so she's super excited.. Our new Thai
districts are sweet.. All Thai missionaries are awesome so far! So, now
muich else going on here. I'm in Helamen in the BOM hope to finish by
Sunday but we shall see... I am so excited to head out to Thailand...
Mosquito Repellent wouldn't be too bad of an idea. I'll let you know
either next week or following one if I need anything else that way we
can get it out here quickly and I might send a few things home that I
won't need but we will see in the next couple weeks. Gotta figure it out
quick though so I can receive it before I leave I suppose lol. Sounds like Sitara got lucky with Elder HOlland
going to USU last weekend or something..? Idk too much, Elder Wright in
my district is writing a girl at USU who did musical number at the
devotional or something idk... Anyways I'm stoked to go to Thailand. I
love the Thai language, I've learned sooo much here already! Well I
better get going. I love you all.. Talk to you next week.
